Or: “how to control a population by manipulation”
(Sometimes a system or culture looks “normal” because it’s been slowly adding and accepting things- harmful things- over a long time so that society hardly notices. But taking a step back we can see there is an absolute war on God’s design for people to “be fruitful and multiply”.
Obviously there’s a lot of nuance with this topic. There are many people who don’t have children or only have one or two who are not buying into cultural lies. Marrying young isn’t always an option or the best option. And choosing the “family path” can be a very real sacrifice (albeit, a worthy one). This satirical list is meant to bring awareness to issues in our society that are so pervasive we sometimes fail to realize how insane they are.)
How to control a population by manipulation:
-Give the young women hormonal birth control to “fix acne”, “help painful periods”, and allow them to be sexually active “without consequences”.
-Make marriage optional and self-satisfaction a priority. Foster an “open” mindset (easily done through movies and TV) towards having multiple sexual partners, viewing pornography, living together without marrying, dating around, sleeping around, etc.
-Make the young and old alike think it’s shameful and wasteful to marry young and become have children young (during their most fertile years).
-Convince them that true fulfillment will come by working for a corporation or industry rather than growing a family, that children will take away from this. That children “get in the way” of goals and dreams in general.
-Tell the young men they’ll be trapped and unsatisfied if they marry and start a family.
-Convince the young women they’ll be sacrificing their own bodies and lives by becoming pregnant. Offer a “way out”- this is the only chance for making them agree to something as cruelly inhumane as killing their own babies before they’re born. Use lots of euphemisms and try to convince them that a baby in the womb isn’t really a baby. If that propaganda doesn’t work, make it a “women’s rights” issue and play on human selfishness as well as emphasizing out-of-ordinary circumstances to produce fear and spread misinformation.
-Use fear in general. Offer persistent messages that raising children is expensive, that the world is a dangerous place “these days” to bring a child into.
-Disrupt their hormones in any way possible: plastics in their clothes and in their food, metals in their medicines and water, harsh chemicals in everything from their shampoo and detergent to their perfumes and deodorants; added hormones in their food. Make these products common and alternatives inaccessible. Label anyone who seeks alternatives “extreme”.
-If possible, after all the hormone disruption, encourage confusion of genders, aka: transgenderism.
-If they do manage to reproduce, quickly offer a permanent solution through sterilization.
But like it was all their idea.
Even though I was health-conscious and a Christian and in a stable marriage in my 20s, I was still naive and deceived enough to take birth control pills for years and eventually have my tubes tied.
We need to be vigilant. That doesn’t necessarily mean trying to figure out who’s behind what scheme- after all, “our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12). More useful is to know God’s word and live by it; and if something goes against God’s word, reject it. Like the ideas that self is the ultimate pursuit or children are a burden or marriage is outdated or that someone could be a gender he or she wasn’t born as. These are ideas that are against what God has revealed to us.
“Blessed is the one
who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
or sit in the company of mockers,
but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
and who meditates on his law day and night.
That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
whatever they do prospers.”
Psalm 1:1-3
