I always want all of our trips to be to the ocean. No other destination compares to the splendor of the sea.

Revelation 21 says that in the new heaven and new earth there will be no sea..

I know it’s heaven- perfect, paradise, nothing missing- but I’ve always kinda thought no ocean didn’t make sense. It’s one of the most marvelous of God’s creations; why won’t it be there?

But as I’m marveling at the sea this week I had a little epiphany: infinitely more exquisite than the majesty of the ocean will be the Glory of God! As much as I can possibly marvel at the expanse of water from the shore, I will be in awe a thousand times more being in the presence of the Living Water, the God of the universe, the glorious Lamb.

As incredible as the sea is, it doesn’t come close to comparing to our Maker.
