How to make “aged” paper (super simple homeschool craft!)

Children’s love for learning never ceases to amaze me. Lately, Leo and Lyla, fourth and sixth grade, have been really into the Constitution, Declaration of Independence, and US history in general (or “politics” as they call it).

They’ve taken to writing Documents and Articles for their Government Club, and recently have ambitiously aspired to copy the constitution! I’m sure not going to stand in their way!

They needed paper fit for the task, obviously, which led us to experiment in creating some aged-looking paper. This is a super simple and fun homeschool or summer craft for all ages!

Brew coffee, black tea, and/or herbal tea

Use paintbrushes to spread over paper (just regular printer paper)

Experiment by using different strength brews, sprinkling/rubbing coffee grounds, or dabbing tea bags on papers

Dry in oven on lowest temperature for five minutes or until dry

That’s it! Brush off any coffee grounds, add finishing touches like ripped or burnt edges or crumple and flatten to achieve different looks!

Use for crafts, letters, calligraphy, or copying the Constitution!
