For a few years now, we’ve been enjoying this hot chocolate almost every morning! It’s full of minerals and nutrients that make it a healthy, whole-food treat. (Benefits of each ingredient below recipe!)
It’s so simple to make. Feel free to adjust sweetness and cacao strength to your personal preference!
2 cups warm whole milk (or part water, part milk for different taste/creaminess levels)
2 tablespoons raw cacao powder
1 tablespoon collagen
1-2 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
Optional: 1 teaspoon coconut oil
Whisk/stir well and enjoy!

Raw cacao– (not the same as baking cocoa), packed with flavonoids which improves blood flow, reduces inflammation; naturally excellent source of fiber, potassium, magnesium and iron.
Raw honey– good source of antioxidants and phytonutrients, anti-fungal and antibacterial, contains probiotics which are good for digestion.
Collagen– (Use a brand that contains type I and/or III) promotes healthy gut and metabolism, improves skin and hair health, strengthens joints and bones.
Whole milk– (If you’re sensitive to dairy, you’re probably actually sensitive to pasteurized dairy) raw milk is one of the most complete bioavailable sources of nutrients and vitamins for mammals (like humans); full of health supporting enzymes, high in probiotics; proven to lower risk of asthma, allergies, and eczema; contains bioavailable calcium and healthy fat.
Coconut oil- brain nourishing, helps memory, high in antioxidants, boosts energy, improves metabolism, promotes skin and hair health.
